We are looking for a reliable, attentive, and skilled professional to take on the role of Recreation Coordinator. You will join a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, providing important support services within the Community Services Department. The current vacancy is for Facility Reservations. This position receives direction from the Senior Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor, may exercise direct supervision over assigned hourly staff, and builds relationships throughout the organization. What You’ll Do
- Oversee facility reservations programs, including the coordination of rentals for private, business and nonprofit organizations at the Community Center, Senior Center, Historic Adobe Building, barbecue sites, gymnasiums, and other recreation facilities.
- Schedule, monitor and track maintenance and operations at these facilities.
- Coordinate closely with parks maintenance staff and Park and Open Space Workers regarding activity schedules.
- Act as a representative for Recreation, providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring the program budget.
- Play a key role in selecting, supervising, training, and evaluating contract, part-time, or hourly staff.
- Assist in preparing and implementing City special events.
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in recreation administration or a closely related field.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver/s license.
Highly desirable:
- One year of community service program coordination experience.
- Experience using registration or reservation software.
- Bilingual skills
- Current Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification.
