What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Administrative Assistant (Interest Memo) position at City of Mountain View (CA)?
The purpose of this interest memo is to announce a vacancy for which all interested, regularly appointed City of Mountain View employees are encouraged to apply. The City Clerk’s Office and Finance and Administrative Services Department are presently accepting applications for the position of Senior Administrative Assistant. This recruitment will establish an eligibility list which may be used for future Senior Administrative Assistant vacancies. Applicants interested in this classification are encouraged to apply.
All interested, regularly appointed City of Mountain View employees must apply during this application period. If the selection process proceeds as an internal (closed promotional) recruitment, only those applications submitted during this interest period will be considered as the applicant pool.
Contract, hourly and seasonal employees are not regularly appointed employees and are therefore ineligible to apply for the interest memo or closed promotional job opportunities. Knowledge of: English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; modern office methods, practices, procedures, and computer equipment; computer equipment and programs associated with secretarial/administrative functions; business letter writing; basic recordkeeping principles and procedures. - Ability to: Perform assigned secretarial duties with speed and accuracy; understand and explain department or division policies and procedures; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; some positions may require the ability to type accurately at a speed of 50 words per minute; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible administrative and clerical experience involving frequent public contact.
- Education: Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade supplemented by coursework in office or business management.
