This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.The purpose of this position is to conduct maintenance and upkeep of the public parks, grounds, buildings, athletic fields and related facilities within the Recreation Department.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Functions: Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.Mows/cuts grass with power equipment, commercial riding mowers and weed eaters.Opens and closes park gates, restrooms and prepares fields for use.Loads and unloads dirt, gravel, and other debris.Cleans, maintains and services equipment and tools.Picks up trash in the parks areas and disposes of it properly.Cleans and restocks restrooms and cleans picnic pavilions and prepares them for reservations.Maintains and conducts light repair work on equipment, building and grounds; repairs irrigation systems. Moves and sets up for park functions requiring moving tables, bleachers, and chairs for concerts and special events.Cuts down and removes limbs, branches, and trees that have been damaged by adverse weather conditions.Trims and sprays weeds with herbicide; spreads fertilizer.Installs mulch and trims landscape.Performs other work as assigned.Physical Demands: Refer to Essential Functions Addendum #1.
