GENERAL PURPOSE
Ensures a smooth, efficient operation of the senior service programs, including coordinating activities and supervising employees involved in the varied programs' operations. Review accuracy and finalize weekly and monthly reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the directions of the Executive Director, the Program Coordination will organize, implement, and coordinate the daily operation of our program staff and all senior services programs including but not limited to the adult day care program, nutrition program, senior center activities, senior employment base on the participant’s needs and mandatory requirements as outlined in guidelines as provided by the State of Mississippi, MS Division of Medicaid and City of Natchez.
Duties include the supervision of or direct responsibilities of the following.
- Planning the programs to meet the participants’ needs, liaising with community agencies, and providing services to individuals and families when necessary.
- Coordinating the development and ongoing review and monitoring of participants’ plan of care.
- Establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the internal management systems to facilitate scheduling, and coordinating the services for collecting the pertinent participation data.
- Supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Training of staff and volunteers.
- Shall oversee the day-to-day logistics of the entire meal program as outlined in guidelines, including meal delivery, ordering, and reporting.
- Shall be responsible for planning, conducting, and supervising the therapeutic activities of the programs.
- Shall be responsible for all the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports content for the various programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Natchez Senior Center.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in recreation, social service program, or the equivalent in special Gerontology training and 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include but not limited to:
Must have a proven record of successfully working with the elderly and interacting with the general population.
Must be able to work with staff using the team concept.
Must be detail-oriented, and able to work under strict (time) deadlines.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Use all current office machines including computers, copiers, fax machines, typewriters, and multi-line telephone. Must be proficient in using Excel spreadsheets and Word software.
Must possess the skills to lead and delegate tasks to the staff.
Organizational skills
Able to communicate effectively with others.
Be proactive in identifying and preventing potential problems.
