What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Volleyball Referee position at City of New Berlin?
Under the supervision of the Recreation Program Specialist, the Volleyball Referee is responsible for rules enforcement and the supervision of participants in the program. The referee will make appropriate judgment calls during games and act as a records keeper to report to the Program Specialist.
- Responsible for program set-up and clean-up of gym on game night
- Professionally represent the New Berlin Park and Recreation Department.
- Enforce rules and assist in rules clarification.
- Ensures a safe playing environment for participants.
- Observes, enforces and explains all game rules and regulations.
- Answer player questions before and after games
- Reports problems or needs to management.
- Report to work at least 15 minutes prior to volleyball games starting
- Knowledge of Volleyball Rules and Scoring
- Ability to enforce the rules of volleyball
- Previous coaching or playing volleyball is preferred
- Able to present a positive image of the department and the City
- Ability to communicate effectively with all participants that are playing
