What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concession Stand Attendant position at City of New Berlin?
Under the supervision of the Recreation Program Specialist, the Concession Stand Attendant is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the Concession Stand during softball league play. Politely engaging with customers while taking and delivering accurate orders is the primary role of this job. This position is not required to work every night of the week, but should be able to work at least one night per week for the entirety of the season. There is an opportunity to work up to 4 nights per week. Depending on the amount of games scheduled for each night, the stand is tentatively open from 5:45pm-10:15pm beginning the last week of April through the 3rd week of August on Monday-Thursday. Concession Stand employees must also obtain a license to serve beer, but it is not requirement prior to applying or accepting the position. The Recreation Department can assist in the licensing process.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Keep simple sales’ records and report needs to supervisor.
- Use a cash register and accurately make change for customers.
- Safely handle food and beverage products according to Waukesha County Health Department standards.
- Present a professional image to customers on behalf of the Recreation Department.
- Observe, enforce, and explain all concession stand rules and regulations. Refer in-depth issues to supervisor.
- Attend all in-service training programs and be aware of all facility procedures.
- Physical needs include the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift and position heavy objects.
- Keep an organized facility and stock items when needed and on-hand.
- Notify supervisor in advance of items running out of stock.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and able to obtain license to serve beer.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to operate a cash register and make change.
- Previous food handling or sales related work experience preferred.
- Must be able to work nights Monday through Thursday.
- Ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully with participants, staff, city officials and the public.
- Ability to present a positive image of the department and the City.
Location: Malone Park, Adult Softball Diamonds (16400 W Al Stigler Parkway)
Tentative Season Schedule: Leagues play nightly beginning late April through mid-August on Monday-Thursday from 6:00pm-10:00pm (varies by league)
Salary : $14
