JOB
Performs intermediate semiskilled work installing, removing, troubleshooting, and servicing utility meters; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Field Services and Metering Supervisor.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Installing, removing, troubleshooting, and servicing utility meters.(The following tasks are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)Connects and disconnects meters; documents meter readings on service orders.Checks meters for proper operation and troubleshoots problems; changes meters functioning improperly.Follows all policies and procedures.Performs all duties of Utility Service Specialist when required. Maintains on-call status during hurricanes, ice storms and other emergencies as required.Performs related tasks as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Education and ExperienceAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school; some experience in data entry work, customer service, and computers; some experience in the repair and maintenance of utility meters.Special RequirementsPossession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
