Maintain City buildings and equipment, perform preventative maintenance and make repairs to such as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
The employee must be available and present for work as scheduled. The employee must perform all functions of the job safely and efficiently at all times in compliance with all safety regulations and policies for the safety and welfare of the employee, co-workers, and the public.
- Maintain and repair City buildings
- Monitor and perform regular cleaning and maintenance of pool and chemical feeder systems at Aquatics facility
- Order equipment and supplies
- Repair mechanical issues at City facilities; maintain generators
- Construct items for use within the City
- Perform lawn care and maintain City-owned rental properties
- Repair park buildings as needed
- Re-key locks
- Fill in for Building Custodian as needed
- Snow removal at City facilities
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and respond to mail, electronic communications, phone calls, personal visits
- Initiate safe work practices
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Knowledgeable use of hand tools and pool chemical equipment
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Exceptional communication skills
- Skill in using computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Skill in using office equipment such as copy machine, calculator, fax machine, telephone, and cell phone
- Ability to maintain all certifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, Parks & Recreation Director, Pool Manager, and Department Heads responsible for City facilities
- Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with co-workers, City employees, and the general public
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One to three years' experience in a similar field
- The following certifications are required: (C.P.O) Certified Pool Operator, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- The following Red Cross Certifications are required: First Aid and C.P.R., or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a good driving record

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and be able to carry up to 50 pounds for one hours or more per shift; occasionally may be required to lift/carry up to 100 pounds; occasionally may be more than ten feet off the ground. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee often works in outside weather conditions.
