What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Director of Application Development and Analytics position at City of New York?
The Analytics, Performance, and Management Unit is a 25-person technology and strategy team situated in the Executive Division of the NYC Department of Transportation. The unit contains five main technical branches: Application Development, Analytics, Hosting and Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and GIS and Spatial Data. This Deputy Director position will lead the Application Development and Analytics branches, totaling 8 staff.
The Deputy Director will directly manage all technical staff in the two branches and serve as lead technical project manager and business analyst for all development projects. The position will be responsible for the unit’s web applications environment and all applications hosted therein, as well as the unit’s Microsoft Power BI environment and all business intelligence products hosted therein. The position will be directly responsible for the success of critical agency technical projects including Outdoor Dining Analytics, PAR Management workflows and Analytics, Congestion Pricing Analytics, WIM expansion planning systems and Streets Plan project tracking.
The Deputy Director will also serve as the second in command to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) who oversees the entirety of the unit’s technical operations. This responsibility includes filling in for the CDO in high level meetings, managing communication with executive stakeholders, addressing personnel matters and advising on technical strategy and vision setting.

Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to projects and policies required by the particular position; or,
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
