The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country with a mission of combating municipal corruption. The Department of Investigation is seeking a Digital Forensic Analyst. The selected candidate will support a variety of confidential investigations by retrieving reviewing and examining digital evidence from electronic devices such as laptops desktop computers servers mobile devices tablets and CCTV systems. Additionally the candidate will establish and preserve the chain of custody for digital evidence log and secure property assist with computerrelated search warrants and collaborate with a team of investigators and / or consultants to complete investigative activities. This position involves working with the Agencys Cyber Investigation Unit which is responsible for but not limited to leading cybersecurity related investigations and conducting OpenSource Intelligence (OSINT) research for investigative staff. The Department of Investigation is actively seeking a skilled Digital Forensic Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this critical role you will play a vital part in supporting a range of confidential investigations by expertly retrieving reviewing and analyzing digital evidence from diverse electronic devices including laptops desktop computers servers mobile devices tablets and CCTV systems. Your responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining the chain of custody for digital evidence logging and securing property aiding in computerrelated search warrants and collaborating closely with a dedicated team of investigators and consultants to advance our investigative efforts. You will also work alongside the Agencys Cyber Investigation Unit which is responsible for leading cybersecurity related investigations and conducting Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) research for investigative staff.

Qualifications :
1. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory fulltime experience in an industrial or governmental agency in the field of investigation auditing law enforcement security inspections or in a major operational area of the agency in which the appointment is to be made; or
2.A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; or
3. Education and / or experience equivalent to 1 or 2 above.
