What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIVISION CHIEF position at City of New York?
The New York City Law Department is seeking applications for the Chief of its Municipal Finance Division. The division provides inhouse counsel to the City and related entities on bond transactions. New York City one of the largest municipal bonds issuers in the country issues billions of dollars of debt through general obligation bonds and through the bonds of authorities and local development corporations. The proceeds fund capital projects in a variety of areas including education transportation economic development and environmental protection. The Division also performs corporate governance work for the Citys debt issuing authorities and local development corporations and provides legal guidance for certain Cityfacilitated loan programs. The Chief counsels senior New York City policymakers with respect to legal questions of first impression and novel financing structures and supervises the work of division attorneys and support professionals.
Qualifications :
Must have at least 10 years of legal experience following graduation from an ABA accredited law school.
