Open to candidates who are permanent in the civil service title of Clerical Associate or for those individuals who filed for THE NEW YORK CITY BRIDGE EXAM No. 3971 within the filing period From June 7 2023 to July 18 2023 which includes CLERICAL ASSOCIATE. THE TEST DATE : Multiplechoice and Qualifying Education and Experience testing is expected to begin on Monday September 18 2023.

The mission of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Healthy Homes Program (HHP) formerly the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is to reduce environmental hazards in the home associated with disease and injury. HHP has a special focus on childrens homes and aims to prevent lead poisoning and reduce asthma triggers in the homes of highrisk populations including lowincome families and families of color. As such HHP uses a proactive comprehensive prevention approach targeted to these populations and strives to build partnerships with key organizations serving these communities with the goal of broadening the reach of our prevention efforts.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO :

Enter data from laboratory slips received from private labs and processed as per Program schedule

Review and verify previously entered data for accuracy validity and this it complies with set protocols

Generate and send educational brochures to families of children with elevated blood lead levels

Enter dust wipe results received from various laboratories

Perform other clerical duties as assigned

PREFERRED SKILLS :

A strong customer service background

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Courteous telephone manner.

Basic computer literacy with the desire to learn additional computer skills.

Qualifications :

Qualification Requirements

A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.

Skills Requirement

Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
