Salary range:$43,143.00 – $49,615.00
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mortuary Operations Associate has tasks that include, but are not limited to the following:
- Completes complex and varied administrative tasks required to assist the Mortuary Operations supervisors and managers.
- Coordinates with unit offices to provide admin support for operations when on site or from a central location.
- At the direction of unit managers, draft staff memos, performance evaluations, disciplinary letters, etc.
- Monitor staff time and leave, performance reports, and other personnel matters, and compile reports regarding such.
- Interface with CMS (upload paperwork, download paperwork, add case notes, update records, compile reports).
- Interface with eVital (amend case records, download paperwork).
- Prepares interborough transfer and city burial paperwork.
- Liaises with funeral homes, medical facilities, HRA, DOT, etc. as needed.
- Assist with personnel documentation, timekeeping, tracking, and file updating.
- Liaise with agency units such as Procurement, Budget, Audits & Accounts, and Human Resources to provide admin support for the Mortuary Operations managers.
- Assist with inventory and packaging of supplies and uniforms as needed.
- Prepares reports and keeps records.
- Performs other administrative duties as required.
- Report to the various agency offices (Hirsch, 520, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island) to provide administrative support as needed.
- NYS driver license required to operate city vehicles as needed.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
