Bureau of Wastewater Treatment
The Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all facilities related to the treatment of sewage within the five boroughs of New York City. This includes 14 wastewater treatment plants, sludge dewatering facilities, collections facilities, wastewater laboratories, and harbor vessels.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to serve as the Section Chief of Lifecycle Management within BWT. The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals and be responsible for developing comprehensive, long-term master plans for standalone facilities, consolidated groups of facilities, and/or wastewater process areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and lead a staff of professionals in all aspects of lifecycle management.
- Develop and implement comprehensive, long-term master plans for specific facilities, consolidated groups of facilities, and/or wastewater process areas.
- Perform research and analysis to support master planning activities and business case development.
- Manage consultant contracts that support lifecycle management tasks.
- Coordinate with BWT and other agency stakeholders on long-term planning issues.
- Continuously improve major activities in the Section, including business case development.
- Analyze and prepare dashboards and reports to demonstrate current conditions, trends, and projected future state.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of a Lifecycle Analysis Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Requirements
- A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer.
- Six (6) years of full-time satisfactory experience in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or plan examining work.
- At least two (2) years of experience in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity.
