The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) the largest public housing authority in North America was created in 1935 to provide decent affordable housing for low and moderateincome New Yorkers. NYCHAs Learning and Development (L&D) Department provides service coordination and delivery of training and professional development for NYCHA employees to do their jobs safely and effectively. Through operation of citywide training facilities and a robust library of online learning materials NYCHA L&D offers both technical training in building systems management and leadership development courses that are customized based on NYCHA standard operating procedures. L&Ds mission is to prepare NYCHA employees for the roles theyre in and the roles they aspire to attain while managing the wealth of knowledge that employees amass throughout their careers.
Reporting to the Administrator of the Maintenance Training Unit the Technical Trainer (Maintenance) is responsible for facilitating a variety of training courses designed to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of NYCHA employees primarily but not exclusively Maintenance Workers. This position focuses on training related to NYCHA standards and procedures specific to maintenance operations property management supervision and building operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering highquality professional development opportunities that ensure employees can perform their duties safely efficiently and in compliance with all relevant standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
Instructorled Training Sessions : Lead lectures demonstrations and handson exercises with adult learners both in the classroom and onsite at NYCHA developments on building maintenance procedures.
Technical Support : Provide enduser support and troubleshooting guidance for maintenance operations.
Training Content Creation : Collaborate in the design and development of instructional materials including writing and revising training manuals taking photos or video of handson training demonstrations translating technical content into plain language to enhance training effectiveness.
Training Comprehension and Needs Analysis : Perform assessments and evaluations to determine training comprehension and needs including conducting surveys focus groups and analyzing feedback to create tailored training programs.
Special Projects : Participate in special projects as required ensuring project goals are met and support is provided where needed.
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications :
1. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus five years of supervisory experience in the operation repair and maintenance of large tenanted buildings three years of which must have been in responsible charge of properties having not less than seven maintenance and operations employees. Higher education may be substituted for up to two years of this experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for each year of experience. However all candidates must have at least three years of experience in responsible charge of properties having not less than seven maintenance and operations employees.
