EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Minimum Education & ExperienceRequired: High school diploma (or GED) plus at least 6 months of related work experience.Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted.KnowledgeYou should be familiar with: Basic custodial duties (e.g., cleaning techniques, procedures).Safety procedures, especially when using cleaning equipment and chemicals.SkillsYou should have: Experience using janitorial and cleaning tools/equipment.Basic computer and office equipment skills.Strong time management and organizational skills.A professional attitude and good customer service skills.AbilitiesYou need to be able to: Work well with others including city staff, the public, and officials.Learn and follow city and department policies.Be accurate and detail-oriented in your work.Communicate clearly (spoken and written).Physically perform cleaning tasks.Keep records/logs of your work.Work on your own with minimal supervision.Special CertificationsYou must get First-Aid, CPR, and AED certification within 30 days of being hired.Desirable (Not Required)Experience or training in maintaining large buildings, specialty floors, or light maintenance work is a plus.
