What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Seasonal Workers position at City Of Newton?
The City of Newton is hiring seasonal summer workers! These positions start at $12.00 hour and receive an increase each summer you work with us. Below are the opportunities we have available:
Street Division:
- Will assist in the preparation and placement asphalt, concrete, and slurry seal. Will also aid in managing traffic control needed to perform such tasks.
- Will job sites, tools, and equipment.
- Will be working in various weather conditions.
- Will use hand tools, power tools, shovels, ground compactor, and concrete saws.
Water/Wastewater:
- Mowing all plant grounds, wells and transmissions lines as needed.
- Cleaning Well houses.
- Painting and touch-up.
- Edging, trimming, and general clean-up.
- We also send summer help to clean up cemetery prior to Memorial day services.
- Assist with PWWSD#17 maintenance (groundskeeping, cleaning).
- Water tower general cleaning/sweeping.
Parks:
- Mowing, weedeating, and edging.
- Cleaning restrooms.
- Moving picnic tables.
- Dumping trash.
- Watering flower.
Salary : $12
