What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Snow Plow Operator/Maintenance Laborer - Street Department position at City of Noblesville?
Essential Job Functions
Operate various models of trucks and equipment for clearing and maintaining city streets and rights-of-way, including snow removal equipment for clearing sidewalks/streets and spreading salt.
Operate chain saws, pole saws, and stump grinder; haul brush and storm-damaged trees from city rights-of way. Walk along roadsides and pick up trash. Assist with the collection of leaves along city rights-of-way.
Periodically repair streets and public rights-of-way; assist with flagging/traffic control at work sites; and assist in cleaning/maintaining vehicles and equipment.
Occasionally work extended evening or weekend hours and are on 24-hour call for emergency situations as assigned.
May be required to work other shifts as needed, or to cover vacant positions due to vacations, sickness or other absenteeism.
Job Requirements
High school diploma, GED or comparable years of work experience. Must be 18 years of age to work in rights-of-way.
Possession of a valid Indiana driver’s license, a demonstrated safe driving record, and must remain insurable through the City’s liability insurance carrier. (Refer to the Civilian Personnel Policy for additional information.)
