Description:
- The Nora Springs Aquatic Center Manager is in direct charge of all daily activities at the facility. The Manager strives to maintain a pleasant, safe, sanitary environment while directing and supporting the aquatic staff and providing a positive swimming experience for the public. The Manager is also in charge of organizing swim lessons, rentals, and any other extra-curricular activities.
- Reports to Pool Committee members
- Lifeguard as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Be a leader for all staff.
- Responsible for the direction and supervision of all swimming/lifeguarding activity
- Responsible for the direction and supervision of all admissions/concession stand activity
- Responsible for the supervision and discipline of all staff members
- Responsible for assisting in the training of all lifeguards and admissions/concessions attendants
- Responsible for conducting all required meetings and in-services
- Responsible for making the lifeguard and admissions/concessions attendant work schedule
- Responsible for preparing payroll time cards (verify hours and obtain employee signatures)
- Responsible for all aquatic center property, goods in stock, and building contents
- Responsible for ensuring that the aquatic center is in compliance with all state regulations
- Responsible for compiling all daily reports, records, receipts, and state inspection records
- Responsible for monitoring the mechanical and chemical operations of the aquatic center including chemical levels
- Responsible for keeping track of all documentation and data logs for the pool
- Responsible for pool maintenance, including backwashing, changing filter baskets, and vacuuming
- Responsible for cleaning the facility
- Responsible for dealing with any or all situations involving comments or complaints from staff and patrons in a professional manner
- Responsible to respond quickly to emergency situations and administer First Aid if needed, as well as complete all required reports
- Responsible for organizing and scheduling swim lessons including scheduling lifeguards that will be assisting with lessons
- Responsible for scheduling pool parties
- Responsible for all extra-curricular activities and programing at the facility including private swimming lessons
- Responsible for assisting in pre-season and post-season duties
- Responsible for performing all other related duties as required
- Responsible for calling parents of any person under 18 that is kicked out of the pool for behavior or safety issues
- Responsible for Safe Code and making change for registers. Safe Code is ONLY to be used and known by Managers and Assistant Managers.
- Responsible for ordering/maintaining concessions items
- Responsible for verifying concession orders as received
- Suggest and implement changes to concession menu
- Suggest and implement changes to Admissions/Concessions procedures
- Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the petty cash drawer
- Responsible for enforcement of employee handbook
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be certified in Lifeguarding and First Aid
- Must be certified in CPR / AED
- Must be certified as Water Safety Instructor
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is preferred.
