The City of Norfolk's Department of Recreation is seeking experienced Visual Arts Instructors to develop, organize, and teach classes in various art mediums.

Department Hiring Rate: $16.25 - $18.50/hour
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Teaches various levels of visual arts classes.
- Develop and organize classes in at least two different mediums.
- Assists with developing and implementing fee-based, visual are classes such as pottery, painting, ceramic art and others.
- Provide classroom management by scheduling, monitoring students, compiling curriculums, redirecting when needed and providing feedback to students.
- Market recreation programs by distributing flyers and announcements to the participants.
- Can safely operate equipment such as but not limited to pottery kin, wheels, glass kins etc.
- Demonstrate excellent customer skills while servicing class participants and guests
Must have education &/or experience in teaching visual arts.
At least two years instructional experience, preferred.
CPR/First Aid Certification within six months of employment. Work Location: Titustown Visual Arts Center, 7545 Diven Street, Norfolk, VA 23505
Work Hours: Monday to Sunday; 6:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.; not to exceed 40 hours per week; flexible hours will apply including weekends, holidays, and special events.
Salary : $33,800 - $38,480
