This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
Essential Functions: Responsible for working in a program for youths ages five (5) to twelve (12). Organizes sports activities, recreational games, and craft classes. Participates in field trips with staff and campers.
Education and Experience: Applicant must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Experience working with youths in a recreational atmosphere.
Knowledge of: Recreation activities and programs. General office equipment.
Skill in: Oral communication. Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous to fellow employees and participants while performing duties.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for working in a program for youths ages five (5) to twelve (12). Organizes sports activities, recreational games, and craft classes. Participates in field trips with staff and campers. Performs general janitorial and maintenance duties. Performs other related duties as required. May work special events when scheduled.
Working Conditions: Works in a Recreation Center environment; however, time is spent outside exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, dust, noise, etc.
Mental and Physical Abilities: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to lift and carry light (up to 25 lb.) supplies, materials, and equipment frequently. Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) supplies, materials and equipment occasionally. Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
