Job Description
As a Pool Operations Manager at the City of North Bend, OR, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aquatic facilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Lifeguards: Provide instruction and direction to lifeguards, ensuring they are equipped to respond to emergencies and maintain a safe environment for patrons.
- Pool Maintenance: Routinely test pool chemicals, check deck and bathroom areas for debris, and perform opening and closing procedures to ensure proper pool chemistry and equipment functionality.
- Front Desk Operations: Greet patrons, answer questions, and process transactions using the cash register, adhering to City of North Bend recreation and financial procedures and policies.
- Staff Supervision: Assist in scheduling, collecting timesheets, and organizing staff and facilities for lessons.
- Customer Service: Respond to various questions, resolve problems, and provide technical assistance to lifeguards and the public.
Requirements
- Certifications: Possess an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or equivalent, as well as American Red Cross Water Safety and Lifeguard Instructor Certifications or equivalent within 6 months of employment.
- Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a lifeguard and 6 months experience in a leadership role, which can be supplemented with education and certifications.
- Physical Demands: Must possess the ability to swim distances, dive to pool depths, and lift weights up to 150 pounds with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily indoors with some outdoor exposure. You will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures. While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to chlorine, acids, and other chemicals at aquatics facilities, as well as blood and body fluids while rendering first aid and CPR.
