We are seeking a motivated and reliable Part-Time Athletics Specialist to join our team and support our athletic department. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sports and recreation, with a focus on ensuring smooth operations during league games, practices, tournaments, and rentals. As an Athletics Specialist, you will play a key role in overseeing recreational activities, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent customer service to participants and facility users. There will be a few positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Recreation League Games and Practices:
- Monitor and support the smooth running of recreational league games and practices.
- Ensure that all participants follow rules and guidelines for the safety and enjoyment of all players.
- Act as the point of contact for coaches, players, and referees, assisting with any concerns or questions.
- Assist with Tournaments and Rentals:
- Help monitor athletic tournaments, ensuring events run according to schedule and meet the expectations of all participants.
- Facility Management:
- Ensure athletic spaces are properly maintained, clean, and safe for all users.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of events, including equipment and facility preparations.
- Check equipment and supplies before and after use, making sure everything is in good condition and ready for events.
- Customer Service:
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to athletes, coaches, and event organizers.
- Address any issues or incidents that arise during athletic activities, ensuring resolutions are handled promptly and professionally.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of all participants.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed, following proper protocols and communicating with appropriate authorities.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in collecting feedback and evaluating athletic programs, offering suggestions for improvements.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with athletes, coaches, and the public.
- Ability to work evenings (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM) and weekends, especially for tournaments and rentals.
- Prior experience in sports or recreation programs, or an athletic background is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus but not required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.18 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
