ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
The Role
The Modified Correction Officer position is designed for officers who have completed an academy at their own expense or by sponsorship of an organization, which is certified by the State of Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), AND who do not meet the requirements of Lateral Entry, but have attained a Category III Certificate, and are currently employed with a law enforcement agency. Applicants who are not employed by a law enforcement agency at the time of application must apply within one year of graduating from the academy or within one year of their last service date with a law enforcement agency.
A copy of the applicant's current and valid Peace Officer Certification certificate MUST be scanned and attached to the on-line application.

SELECTION PROCESS
1. Complete online application - Interested candidates MUST submit a completed application through the City's application system. Evaluation of meeting requirements will be made solely on information provided on the application and any required attachments.
2. Pass Physical Fitness Test - Administered by appointment only. Candidate that passes Physical test will move on to interview process.
5. Oral Panel Interview - Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%.
6. Candidate Selection - Candidate that passes will be moved on to the background check process.
7. Pre-Employment Screening-Background Screening / Investigation Includes an extensive background check, polygraph / CVSA examination, medical / drug screen exam, and a psychological evaluation. All top scoring candidates must pass the Background Investigation in order to move forward in the process. Applicants who proceed in the selection process will be required to complete an extensive police background. Among other items, the following are disqualifying behaviors :
