Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented administrative assistant to join our team at the Senior Citizens Center in North Little Rock. The successful candidate will provide administrative, secretarial, and rental coordination support for our department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as receptionist, greets public, and answers incoming phone calls
- Provides general information regarding programs and facilities
- Accepts complaints and informs the public about the Hays Senior Citizens Center facilities, activities, and rental programs
- Schedules meetings, maintains appointment books, and checks clerical work for accuracy
- Tracks sick and absent members
Administrative Duties:
- Coordinates office services, including housekeeping and research
- Issues receipts, accounts for collections, and keeps records of all money collected
- Assists with record keeping for day trips and maintains monthly calendars
Processes Records:
- Inputs membership applications and renewal information into the computer
- Maintains files for records and reports
- Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail
- Prepares outgoing mail and answers routine correspondence
Prepares Documents:
- Takes and types minutes, reports, agenda, and other correspondence for meetings
- Utilizes computer programs to organize and print membership records
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and one year of experience
- Or high school diploma or equivalent and five years related experience and/or training as a secretary
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- 20 hours of continuing education annually and CPR/First Aid certificate within 6 months of hire
- Arkansas class D driver's license and good driving record
