The City of Northglenn, is seeking a highly motivated and outgoing Civil Engineer II to take part in Traffic, Streets, Facilities, Maintenance, Planning, Development Review, Construction Management and Inspection, Right-of-Way (ROW) permitting and Capital Improvement Projects.
HIRING RANGE : $89,051-$106,862 / Annually
Position Highlights :
This is a professional engineering position in the Public Works Department and is responsible for the development and coordination various engineering design projects.
An employee in this class is responsible for the overall coordination and maintenance of the various projects within the City. These projects may involve but are not limited to planning and development, maintenance and operations, utilities and the Capital Improvements Program. Work is performed with appreciable latitude for independent judgment and action that is reviewed by the Engineering Manager through observation, conferences, reports, and achievement of desired objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this full-time position include coordination, management and inspection of various types of Capital Improvement Projects. Additional responsibilities include ROW permitting and inspection, assistance with preparation of the capital improvement projects budget and coordination with future planning for City development and redevelopment.
Manages assigned projects from design through completion.
Reviews plans and specifications and conducts construction inspections for compliance with pertinent codes.
Reviews pay applications and required back-up support documentation for work performed.
Coordinates with other agencies and organizations when needed for permitting, approvals, grant funding, reporting and reviews.
Prepares and reviews operating and capital improvement budgets for assigned sections.
Represents the Public Works Department with other City Departments, and gives presentations in public meetings regarding projects.
Prepares written reports and memorandums including City Council agenda memos and staff reports.
Carries out administrative duties as assigned.
Performs other job related duties as required.
Education and Experience
Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in civil engineering or closely related field.
Three to five years progressively responsible experience in technical civil and traffic engineering work, or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Registration with the Colorado State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as a professional engineer (P.E.) is required or be able to obtain a Colorado license within six months of hire as a condition of employment.

Regular Full-Time
Employee works in a position that is classified as 40 hours per week. Eligible for full benefit package including medical, dental, life and LTD insurance; pension and general leave and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 30
Employee works in a position that is classified as 30 hours per week. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and / or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.
