Nature of Work
The City of Northglenn is seeking a highly qualified, energetic, and motivated Personal Trainer to join our growing team. Personal Trainers are responsible for individualized programming and instruction for one-on-one and small group training sessions. Personal Trainers ensure proper exercise techniques, safety, and usage of the weight room.
Must be available to work weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to provide individualized program design to meet client's goals, needs, and exercise history. Must be able to demonstrate proper safety and instruction of exercise technique and movement patters. Personal Trainer must have basic knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, behavior change and nutrition.
Ability to uniquely motivate and build rapport with class participants to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
Completes all paperwork in a timely manner, including timesheets, monthly class attendance, calendar planning, etc.
Education and Experience

Previous experience as a personal trainer for at least 1 year is required.
Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification required : ACE, NASM, ISSA, NCSF and / or
Nationally Recognized Specialty Certification deemed appropriate for the class format.
In addition, must maintain current CPR / 1st Aid and AED certifications.
Supplemental Information
Must be able to perform a variety of physical activities including bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Selected candidate will be required to complete and pass a background investigation, physical and drug test prior to employment.
Certified Instructor Starting Salary $22.47

DESCRIPTION & BENEFITS
Regular Full-Time
Employee works in a position that is classified as 40 hours per week. Eligible for full benefit package including medical, dental, life and LTD insurance; pension and general leave and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 30
Employee works in a position that is classified as 30 hours per week. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and / or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 20
Employee works in a position that is classified as 20 hours per week but less than 30 hours. City pays contribution toward employee only medical insurance. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation and optional benefits.
