Seasonal position teaching children (ages 3-10) the fundamentals of a wide variety of sports offered at the City of Northglenn. Applicants will be coaching / instructing youth sports, along with scorekeeping for youth and adult sports leagues as needed and some slight officiating.
The seasonal sports program runs everyday of the week, mornings and evenings, with shifts up to 20 hours per week. Some split shifts may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruct participants in skills, techniques and sportsmanship using a variety of teaching and instruction techniques.
Create an enjoyable learning experience for the participants of the city's sports programs.
Officiating and coaching youth sports practices and games.
Set up and tear down equipment for fields, coordinate, and monitor equipment.
The youth sports program runs everyday of the week mornings and evenings, with shifts up to 20 hours per week.
Other duties and shifts may be assigned such as assisting with weekend adult sporting tournaments, special events, and scorekeeping for weeknight adult sports leagues 6 : 00 - 10 : 30 p.m.
Youth sports programs will begin the first week of June.
Education and Experience
Requires the ability to communicate effectively with participants and parents to improve program or address any concerns. Must have experience and knowledge of basketball, track, baseball, and soccer. Previous coaching experience is a plus. Must possess a general knowledge of fundamentals and rules of each activity / sport and be at least 16 years of age.

DESCRIPTION & BENEFITS
Regular Full-Time
Employee works in a position that is classified as 40 hours per week. Eligible for full benefit package including medical, dental, life and LTD insurance; pension and general leave and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 30
Employee works in a position that is classified as 30 hours per week. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and / or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 20
Employee works in a position that is classified as 20 hours per week but less than 30 hours. City pays contribution toward employee only medical insurance. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation and optional benefits.
