What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician (Crisis Response Unit Co-Responder) position at City of Northglenn?
The City of Northglenn is seeking energetic, compassionate and self-motivated individuals to join the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) as Co-Responders. There is one full-time temporary 2-year grant funded program utilizing a portion of the City’s American Rescue Plan Act allocation. They will support the Northglenn Police Department, Neighborhood Services, and Municipal Court by working with residents to connect them with community resources and providing follow-up case management services.
Schedule will be Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
CRU members will work out of the Northglenn PD under the City Management Dept. They will work directly with our police officers and neighborhood services department to meet clients at various entry points into hardship situations.
Must be highly engaged with community partners and organizations, be prepared to respond on-scene with clients to help with mental health assessments and refer clients to appropriate supportive resources.
Will offer case management to ensure continuity of care is offered to clients and meaningful connections are made.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field. A Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field is strongly preferred.
At least five (5) years experience in the social services field to include case management experience.A minimum of 2 years of experience in crisis interview, verbal de-escalation, working with individuals who experience severe and persistent mental illness, and other at-risk populations.
Ability to initiate and sustain relationships with staff, residents and partners in the community. Participation in a strong team culture. Requiring autonomous work as well as contributions to shared outcomes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enthusiasm, creative thinking, ability to exercise independent judgment, and a commitment to excellence in customer service responsiveness.
Strong experience working with diverse populations.
Understanding and knowledge of local community services and resources preferred
Prior experience with Word and Excel software packages desirable. Ability to learn new applications.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Must possess at the time of appointment and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license and good driving record.
Selected candidate must pass a background, Polygraph, Psych, drug screen and physical.
Hiring Range: $60,283 - $65,000 DOQ
Full Range: $60,283 - $85,153
Salary : $60,823 - $65,000
