What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Instructor - Certified (SilverSneakers) - Part Time position at City of Northglenn?
The City of Northglenn is seeking a highly qualified, energetic, and motivated Group Fitness Instructor to join our growing team. Instructors are responsible for leading safe and effective group fitness classes for community members. We are looking for instructors who can teach a variety of formats including: Silver Sneakers Cardio & Classic.
Must be available to work weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. Teaches approximately 2-3 classes a week.Instructs participants on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Provides exercise modifications and progressions for diverse participants with varying skills and fitness levels.
Ability to uniquely motivate and build rapport with class participants to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
Completes all paperwork in a timely manner, including timesheets, monthly class attendance, calendar planning, etc.

Previous experience leading group fitness for at least 1 year is required.
Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification required: ACE, NASM, ISSA, NCSF and/or
SilverSneakers Certification.
In addition, must maintain current CPR/1st Aid and AED certifications.Must be able to perform a variety of physical activities including bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Selected candidate will be required to complete and pass a background investigation, physical and drug test prior to employment.
Certified Instructor Hiring Range $22.47 - $23.00 DOQ
Full Range $22.47 - $29.20
