HIRING RANGE: $25.22 - $29.00 / HOUR
Position Highlights: The MSW II will perform a variety of tasks related to municipal infrastructure and public works maintenance. This position requires hands-on experience, including working with and around heavy equipment, assisting in water distribution and collection, and performing routine maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a Level 1 Water Distribution License, and a Level 1 Collections License, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

- Water Distribution & Collection:
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and collection systems.
- Respond to water service disruptions, including leaks and maintenance needs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of water lines, hydrants, and related infrastructure.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of lift stations and wastewater systems.
- Heavy Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, skid steers, and other municipal machinery.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and minor maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform general maintenance tasks including cleaning, repairing, and maintaining municipal water, storm, and wastewater systems, and minor street repair.
- Assist with road repairs, pothole filling, curb, gutter, and sidewalk maintenance.
- Perform snow removal and other seasonal duties as required.
- Teamwork and Safety:
- Work closely with team members to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
- Follow safety protocols and municipal policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in training and development activities to keep skills up to date.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment maintenance, and materials used.
- Report equipment damage, malfunctions, safety hazards, and service disruptions to supervisors.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in municipal service work or a related field.
- Experience with water distribution and collection systems, including maintenance and repair.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as trucks, backhoes, or similar machinery.
- Level 1 Water Distribution License required.
- Level 1 Collections License required.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Must possess a valid State of Colorado motor vehicle license with a good driving record.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- The position involves both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to potential hazards, such as heavy equipment, traffic, and wastewater systems, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
This is a non-exempt position (eligible for overtime compensation).
Standby is a condition of employment
Use of General Leave may be seasonally restricted due to operational necessity.

Salary : $52,453 - $68,189
