What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Park Ranger position at City of Northglenn?
The seasonal Park Ranger position is responsible for park regulation enforcement work, routine park maintenance, park patrol, and visitor safety at EB Rains Memorial Park. Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. This position is allocated to Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services.Maintain communications with staff and the public and address concerns from the public.
Knowledge of park policies and regulations
Provides courteous, high quality customer service to the public to requests for service or appropriate referral.Monitors park users to enforce rules and regulations, and to safeguard and preserve park facilities.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standardsActively identifies and addresses areas needing maintenance or repair in the park.
Monitors park usage by the public to enhance enjoyment and enforce standards of safety, civility and cleanliness.Communicates closely with the Northglenn Police Department and Parks and Recreation Department.
Assist in preparing and monitoring park for pavilion rentals, skatepark special events and other approved uses.Ensure the proper permits have been issued for rentals, vending and amplified sound.
Work independently as well as with others.Objectively handle a wide variety of public contact situations.
Deal with emergency situations with prompt, calm, common sense action.Demonstrate some knowledge of: general park practices and techniques.
Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or completion of GED.Colorado Driver's License, provide proof of safe driving record and maintain a safe driving record for continued employment.
Experience or education in Parks, Recreation, Open Space, Natural Recreation areas, criminal justice or a related field.
Preferred : College-level coursework in Parks, Recreation, Natural Resources, Criminal Justice or a related field.
Previous experience as a Park Ranger. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
Salary : $21 - $27
