Position Definition: This position requires a creative and technology savvy team player who works under the direct supervision of the department Supervisor, but may also report to department librarians as directed by the Supervisor, to perform a variety of duties at the adult reference desk and in the history room, in addition to a variety of non-public duties that affect the quality of services provided to the public.

Two years post-secondary education is required. Applicant must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Package and interested in learning new technologies. Two years of work experience in a public library is a plus.Hours: Up to 19.5 hrs/wk.

Example of Duties:
- Ability to work at a busy reference desk to answer basic reference questions.
- Ability to successfully promote adult programs and conduct outreaches services.
- Assists with programming for adults.
- Assists with collection development and reader’s advisory using indexes, bibliographies and other sources.
- Assists the public in using the public computers to access the public catalog, Internet and databases.
- Provides general technical support, self-service resources (photocopiers, printers, computers, software applications, online registration and placing holds on items).
- Assists with simple maintenance and basic troubleshooting of: computers, printers, and photocopiers.
- Assists with Adult Services flyers, press releases, emails, calendars, newsletters, and website.
- Assist with community group tours, book clubs, and database, technology and 3D printer training classes.
- Attend reference training and other educational programs as they become available.
- Establishes priorities in performance of assigned duties and reports accomplished tasks to Supervisor.
