Recreation Associate
Position Type: Part-time
Hourly Rate: $15
Job Summary
The Recreation Associate is responsible for the daily operation and organization of many areas within the Recreation Department. Position necessitates continual communication with all staff members as well as constant positive interpersonal skills with the general public. This position will also assist in the coordination of all activities scheduled in the Recreation Center as well as the pools. Further, this position will respond to requests for new programs that are not being offered and assisting the Recreation Center management team in planning, organizing and supervising a diversified program of athletics, games, fitness and special events for all age groups.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Handles daily collection of fees and monies collected, including but not limited to those rental fees for facility usage, league fees, activity fees, light fees, and concession operation.
Operates a variety of office machines including the computer, printer, copier, fax machine and telephone.
Independently providing accurate information for all sponsored activities and programs.
Must accurately follow instructions while accepting and identifying all reservations for the use of recreational facilities and provides information to the user as to the rates, rules, regulations, hours and the general conditions of use.
Must assist in the scheduling of activities using the recreation center by coordinating with other key staff members.
Shall periodically evaluate on-going programs, monitoring class enrollment, instructor behavior and delivery of instruction, the use of facilities by said instructor or class participants.
May assist in the organization of special events upon direction.
May assist in the operation of the concession stands and the pool. If working the pool special certifications may be required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to make decisions in accordance with the guidelines set forth by Management in the absence of supervisors.

Work Conditions And Physical Demands
Ability to work in a variety of environments. Work can be indoors in an office with computers, phones, copier, fax machine, etc. or in a recreational facility or outside at park in all-weather elements. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of forces frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force regularly to move objects. Requires the use of fingers, balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Must be able to work flexible hours that include evenings and weekends.

Salary : $15
