What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Youth Soccer Official position at City of O'Fallon, IL?
Job Summary:
Officiate at recreational league soccer games, or competitions, to maintain standards of play as well as sports policies and to ensure that game rules are observed by participants and spectators.? Works directly with the public and is responsible for contributing to a fun and safe environment for friendly competition.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
FLSA:
- Hourly, non-exempt

- Seasonal/ Temporary.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Judge performances in sporting competitions in order to award points, impose scoring penalties, and determine results.
- Signal participants or other officials to make them aware of infractions or to otherwise regulate play or competition.
- Inspect sporting equipment and/or examine participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
- Keep track of event times, including race times and elapsed time during game segments, starting or stopping play when necessary
Essential Skills/Abilities/ Requirements:
- Must be at least 14 years of age- Required.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends-Required.
- Must be able to prove reliable transportation-Required.
- A valid work Permit- Required.
- Must be able to pass a background check, (ages 18 )- Required.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work long hours in outdoor temperatures
- Some work is accomplished in an outdoor environment, subject to weather fluctuations (wide range of temperatures and inclement conditions)
- Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or squat for long periods of time
- Running related to the job duties will be occasionally necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively, included but not limited to speaking and listening
