WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A RECREATION SPECIALIST-CONCESSIONS AND BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Proficiency in office equipment, such as computers and calculators, is necessary for effective data management and report preparation. A high school diploma or GED, complemented by relevant experience (typically 1-3 years), provides the backdrop for success in this role. Additionally, possessing a valid driver's license from Missouri, along with CPR certification, will enhance your ability to perform your duties effectively. Preferred certifications, such as Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and Serve Safe, will further demonstrate your commitment to excellence in recreation.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Knowledge of recreation program development and implementation.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
• Knowledge of the management of recreation facilities and equipment
• Knowledge of city policies and procedures
• including purchasing and budgeting procedures.
• Skill in the supervision of personnel.
• Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer, calculator & copier
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to three years.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain certification in CPR.
• Certified Parks and Recreation professional preferred.
• Serve Safe certification preferred
