JOB DUTIES OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work collaboratively with other divisions to provide excellent and responsive public services including emergency situations, such as sanitary sewer backups, watermain breaks, street light damage, snow removal and park events, etc.
- Record daily data checking equipment as assigned
- Perform rotating weekend standby duty responsibilities
- Knowledge of utility meter reading equipment and software (currently Neptune 360), use of spreadsheets, and able to migrate utility billing data to meter reading data system
- Ability to understand and use SCADA system at well, tower, and lift stations
- Proficiency with standard technology
- Assist with the maintenance of the public water system, including towers, wells, fire hydrants, valves, distribution system, chemical feed equipment (chlorine and fluoride)
- Assistwiththemaintenanceofthepublicsanitarysystemincludingliftstations, manholes, and gravity sewer system operations
- Record daily pumping records for wells and lift stations
- Perform snow plowing/removal related duties
- Respond to after-hours calls/inquiries as directed/needed
- Assist with street, water, and sewer maintenance activities
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education
- High School diploma or GED certificate
- One (1) year of experience in utility maintenance
- Within six months of hire, obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsement with Minnesota driving privileges.
- MDH Water Operator Certification Class E
- MPCA Wastewater Operator Certification – Class S-D
Education
- Additional degree in related field/utilities maintenance at a vocational school or related on-the-job experience
- Three (3) years of experience in utility maintenance
- Class A Minnesota driver’s license with air brakes and tanker endorsement with Minnesota driving privileges
- MDH Water Operator Certification – Class B
- MPCA Wastewater Operator Certification – Class S-B
Salary : $67,766 - $84,718
