What are the responsibilities and job description for the P/T Cultural Arts Seasonal Event Worker position at City of Ocala?
This seasonal entry level position will assist the Cultural Arts Division with planning, coordinating, and operation of all Cultural Arts events and programming from January to June. Reports to Cultural Arts Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Communicates with general public, residents, businesses, artists, community organizations, and vendors, providing excellent customer service.
2. Assists in the planning and execution of Cultural Arts events and programs including coordination, sponsorship, vendor management, setup, and operation.
3. Answers, directs, and records phone calls and emails; schedules meetings as directed.
4. Monitors spectators and participants at special events and programs to ensure orderly conduct.
5. Set-up and arrange chairs, tables, tents, and other equipment for special events, arts programming, and art commissions.
6. Conducts special event surveys and accurately records and files survey data.
7. Assist performers with dietary needs, catering requests, and stage transportation.
8. Assist with green room duties such as stocking, cleaning, monitoring, and securing.
9. Maintains the division's records, files, and associated paperwork in keeping with records retention requirements.
10. Services are continuous during daytime, nighttime, and some weekends.
11. Provides support for division special events before, during, and after the event in the areas and for functions relative to essential job duties and/or otherwise assigned.
Perform any other related duties as required or assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required.
Six (6) months of related experience and/or training.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current certification in adult, child, and infant CPR.
