The City of Oceanside is accepting application for current and future vacancies for the position of Police Officer - Academy Graduate. This position will be assigned to the Field Operations Division.

- Currently enrolled in, or have graduated from a California POST approved Law Enforcement Peace Officer Academy within the last three years OR satisfactory completion of a California POST re-qualification course.
In addition, applicants must:
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's license;
- Possess a California POST Basic Academy Certificate at time of appointment;
- Successfully pass a thorough background investigation, a polygraph examination, a pre-placement exam, a psychological evaluation, and a medical examination which will include a pre-employment drug screening;
- Not have been convicted of a felony or serving probation.
You must attach the following: a copy of your active California POST Basic Academy Certificate. If you are in the last portion of the California POST Academy, a letter from the academy stating you are in good standing and are expected to graduate. If you do not, your application will not be considered.
Your POST Academy Certificate cannot be more than three (3) years old. If it is, you must submit a POST Recertification Certificate.
