The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire a Concession Coordinator for the Aquatic Center. Employees in this position are responsible for a variety of tasks related to concessions, supervising concessions and event operations. Scheduled hours vary but may include: mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. This is considered a limited-term employment position. Work is reviewed by the Event/Recreation Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains safe food handling practices and sanitary conditions.
- Assist with supervising, training, and evaluating seasonal or part-time staff.
- Assist with scheduling staff using scheduling software.
- Lead a crew to complete daily customer service and tasks.
- Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner and take concession orders from customers.
- Assist in kitchen process such as preparation, cooking, and serving products.
- Process the order on cash register and return correct change; follow City cash handling policies and procedures.
- Balance cash drawer each shift or as directed following established cash handling policies.
- Prepare and provide concession supplies ordered by customers.
- Maintain cleanliness in concession area and surrounding eating areas.
- Follow safe food handling procedures at all times.
- Plan and lead event set-up and tear down.
- Assist with purchasing, shopping and stocking product inventory.
- Prepares invoices for payment.
- Maintains concessions menu and prepares concessions product for sale.
- Manages cash handing, deposits, and daily accounting receipts.
- Keeps accurate records of product ordered, receipts of products purchased and delivered, accident reports.
- Performs and supervises maintenance and general housekeeping of concession stand according to Health Department Standards.
- Performs accounting duties including balancing cash drawers, performing daily deposits, preparing deposit bags, tracking sales, purchases, register overages and shortages.
- Assists with in season staff training on customer service, equipment operations, suggestive selling and safe food handling procedures.
- Motivates staff to provide great customer service.
- Completes paperwork as required (timesheets, accident reports, incident reports, payment requests, etc.).
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Compensation: Wage range for this seasonal, limited-term position is $15.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on qualifications and budget. Flexible scheduling available. There are no benefits associated with limited-term positions.
