Bill Frederick Park offers year-round Nature Programs, which include youth field trips, family workshops, walking tours, and table programs, with increased participation during the summer. Programs cover topics such as plants, wildlife, and lake ecosystems, and facilitate activities like fishing, hiking, and farm tours. Instructors work with the Nature Program Specialist to engage guests in learning about the natural environment and wildlife. Responsibilities include coordinating, preparing, delivering, setting up, breaking down, and maintaining programs and materials, as well as some program development. They primarily work with youth in varying group sizes and must make responsible decisions, adapt quickly to changes, and work independently. The role requires walking long distances, standing for long periods, working outside in all weather conditions, lifting up to 50 pounds, and having a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. Some experience with youth, educational presentations, public speaking, and programming required. Florida driver’s license is required. Must pass comprehensive background check.

- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, often under hot and humid conditions and in inclement weather.
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends.
- Must be able to follow through with assignments and accomplish tasks with little or no direct supervision.
- Must have the ability to make responsible decisions and adapt easily and quickly to changing circumstances.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Valid Florida driver license required
