The following examples are meant to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive:- Performs a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance duties involved in the repair and maintenance of City buildings, facilities, and grounds, performs and assists in building maintenance tasks involving carpentry, remodeling, painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical, janitorial/cleaning and a variety of other work.
- Inspects assigned facilities for compliance with safety standards, performs repairs and completes tasks as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Hangs, repairs, and replaces doors and associated mechanisms including hinges, locks and dead bolts.
- Performs routine electrical work, installs and replaces light fixtures, ballast and fluorescent lighting, checks breakers, plugs, switches, fixtures and wires for appropriate operations.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets and related equipment.
- Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
- Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others.
