GeneralThe Facilities Custodian supports the Building Official and City Hall staff by completing tasks necessary to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary building.Supervision ReceivedThe Facilities Custodian is responsible to and performs under the general supervision of the Building Official.Supervision ExercisedNot Applicable.

Examples of Essential DutiesThe following examples are meant to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive: Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.Strip, seal, finish, and buff floors.Shampoo rugs and carpets.Dust / clean all surfaces.Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.Gather and empty trash and recycling.Mix water and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.Requisition of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.Service, clean, and supply restrooms.Prepare rooms and facilities for meetings.Assist with routine building & grounds maintenance as deemed necessary.Other duties as assigned.
