General The City of Osage Beach is seeking highly motivated, solution-oriented individuals to join the Engineering Department. As a member of the Engineering team, the GIS Technician will be part of a culture of innovation, initiative, and collaboration. Using the City’s GIS Master Plan as a guiding principle, this position will give the opportunity to showcase expertise and ingenuity. The GIS Technician provides advanced technical support for GIS services and serves as a technical lead on various projects. The GIS Technician provides analysis and display of geographic data to staff, citizens, and other stakeholders. The GIS Technician provides a broad range of services including web development, database maintenance, and general mapping/data requests.Supervision ReceivedThe GIS Technician is under the direct supervision of the City Engineer.Supervision ExercisedNot Applicable.

The following examples are meant to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive: Works with the Engineering and Public Works departments to identify and create geospatial data, maps, applications, analysis, and reports.Develop and manages GIS mobile applications and offline editing.Conducts and coordinates GIS training to City staff.Performs a variety of GIS data modeling, conversion, maintenance, quality assurance, and documentation tasks.Creates and maintains public-facing interactive GIS web pages.Provides support for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of the ArcGIS platform, database, and software and escalates to vendors as needed.Providers incident and service request support for Public Works.Configure and maintain ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise servers.Manage and maintain ESRI geodatabases.Conducts field data collectionTrain other team members and power users on GIS and other GIS technologies and provide guidance as needed.
