The City of Overland Park has a part-time Facility/Events Attendant position available in the Parks and Recreation Department.
Summary
Responsible for assisting patrons and monitoring activity areas within the Arboretum facility. Enforces rules and regulations; checks-in patrons, collect monies; sets-up and arranges rooms; and performs light custodial duties.

Normal Work Hours: Variable Hours - PT/SEA/TMP
Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour

Responsibilities
- Assists in the daily operation of Arboretum's LongHouse. Supports Operation Supervisor and Event Supervisor to cover 7 day operations. Hours may fluctuate based on business needs; however schedule may be assigned from 8:00 AM to Midnight.
- Must have night and weekend availability.
- Sets-up and arranges rooms/and or event spaces for meetings and other functions. Ensures that the room is clean and properly prepared prior to and at the conclusion of all meetings. Distributes equipment and ensures proper use and return of equipment. May operate and maintain a variety of audio-visual and operational equipment. Assists event planning team in the setup and delivery of events on Arboretum grounds.
- May be assigned to deliver operational programming on the facility such as tours, train garden operations, greeter to the public, café/gift/concessionary shop sales, etc.
- Effectively assist and communicate appropriately with facility users, maintain good customer relations, and respond appropriately to unexpected situations that may arise. Follow established facility use guidelines, policies and procedures. Provides operational support for events, classes, and programs, including, but not limited to, set-up and tear-down of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.
- May performs light custodial duties, sweeping, glass cleaning, mopping, picking-up trash, etc.
- The employee must work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors and any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals. There may be other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- The employee must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable.
