2025 SEASONAL TEMPORARY POSITIONSApproximate dates of employment - May 2025 - September 2025JOB TITLE: Seasonal Laborer - StreetsDEPARTMENT: Public WorksDIVISION: Streets IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS: Street Maintenance Manager DIRECTION OF OTHERS: NoneNATURE OF WORK: Assist with sign installation, painting of roadway markings and other tasks as assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
WORK PERFORMED/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: I. Assist with sign installation.II. Assist with painting of crosswalks, railroad crossings and parking stalls.III. Assist with sealcoating of city streets.IV. Assist in forestry practices.V. Assist mechanic shop.VI. Report any vehicle or equipment damage to your supervisor.VII. Report any personal injury or accident to your supervisor.VIII. Answers questions of the general public when in the field, or directs public to the proper employee.IX. Perform related work as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS: Typically, 30 - 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Some weekend and overnight work may be required.In compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act the following represents the Physical and Environmental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk on uneven and rough terrain as well as paved and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and operate foot controls on equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. When training others in equipment operation the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting, and turning of the upper body. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
