DIVISION: Recreation
LOCATION: Various locations within the Parks and Recreation and School District facilities
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Recreation Supervisor
DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None
NATURE OF WORK: Officiate and teach the specified sport including setting up and taking down of facility.
2025 SEASONAL / TEMPORARY POSITION
- Perform officiating and related duties as assigned.
- Dress in proper referee attire as instructed by supervisor and provide other items needed to perform the job.
- Assist in safety of the participants.
- Report any damages or breakage of equipment to Supervisor.
- Report any injuries or accident to Supervisor.
- Answer questions of the general public when in field, or direct public to the proper employees.
- Maintain knowledge of rules and control game safety of coaches and parents, while teaching the game to participants.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Individuals should have a firm grasp of the game and its rules. Must be knowledgeable and able to portray the youth philosophies of the Park and Recreation Department. Soccer: Must be at least 12 years of age at the time of hire.
Hours of Work: This is a position with scheduled shifts including days, evening, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Mental Demands: This position works at various facilities and locations including indoor and outdoor, with all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, run, talk or hear, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary : $15 - $20
