Description
Under general direction, assists the Facility Coordinator with managing facilities during events and reservation of park facilities to include set up and tear down for the event, custodial tasks, rule enforcement, customer service, and support, etc. Assist supervisors in implementing Paducah Parks and Recreation's programs and special events as assigned.
Part-Time - $14.00 / Hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Assists with enforcing facility rules.
- Conducts routine facility inspections during events / reservations to ensure the cleanliness of the facilities, including cleaning up spills, removing trash, and cleaning bathrooms and surfaces as needed and required.
- Clean and sanitize the facility after the conclusion of the event.
- Set up tables and chairs before events in alignment with the requested floor plan and layout.
- Tear down tables and chairs after the event and properly store them.
- Responsible for inspecting the facility and reporting any repair needs to supervisors.
- Assist supervisors with the implementation of plans, schedules, and activities for the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Provides excellent customer service interactions, and communicates well with other staff, supervisors, and the public courteously and professionally.
- Organize materials and supplies needed for programs and events including assisting with set up, tear down, and clean-up before and after the event.
- Maintains good relationships with facility users, event participants, and vendors and can act as a point-of-contact on-site, as assigned.
- Monitor facilities to ensure safety and security measures are followed, as assigned.
- Report any incidents to supervisors.
- Must be organized and able to keep necessary records and documentation.
- Requires working nights, weekends, third shift, and some holidays, as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be at least 16 years of age. Be responsible and punctual. Be able to enforce rules and regulations and have good, sound judgment. Customer service experience preferred. A valid driver's license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Ability to maintain high energy and activity level indoors or outdoors, perform light to moderate manual labor, and tolerate various temperatures and climates for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES : Knowledge and / or experience in customer service, working with adults and children, and maintaining a consistent and safe environment. Experience and knowledge in special event planning, communications, and customer service. Must be prompt and reliable. Must be able to adapt when circumstances warrant. Must be flexible and organized. Must be willing and able to participate in planned activities, programs, and events. Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
