What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Floodwall Operator position at City of Paducah?
Under the supervision of the Flood Control Superintendent and Floodwall Operators, Operate & Observe Pump stations & general cleaning of Pump stations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be physically able to perform duties, and follow instructions.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Inspects pump stations to ensure proper and efficient operation of all equipment; reports any electrical or mechanical failures to Flood Control Superintendent or Floodwall Operator, keeps daily time books and pump plant shift records). Lubricates mechanical equipment.
- The job may be 7 days per week when pump plant(s) are engaged.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Flood Control Superintendent.
Part-Time
$12.00/Hour
Requirements:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the ability to perform sustained moderate manual labor including lifting a minimum of 20 pounds. Must be able to copy and record figures and operate an internal radio system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of pump station and floodwall operations; safety practices and procedures; related tools and equipment. Requires ability to read, copy, and record figures accurately. Must be able to demonstrate ability to perform moderate physical labor.
