About the Role
We are seeking a talented Treatment Plant Operations Specialist to join our Utilities department in Palm Bay, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our water purification and wastewater treatment plants.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water purification and wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubricating motors and pumps, and making repairs as needed.
- Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure efficient operation of the plant.
- Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Prepare and submit reports on plant operations and maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, math, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in water purification treatment plant operation and mechanical repair work.
- Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Certification as a water treatment plant operator from the State of Florida Department of Environmental Resources.
